Focus on the most important things when it comes to sun safety. For example:

What does a broad-spectrum sunscreen do?
There are two types of UV light that can harm your skin – UVA and UVB.

UVA rays may cause your skin to age prematurely, causing wrinkles and age spots. UVB radiation (UVB) may cause skin burns. Excessive exposure to ultraviolet A (UVA) or ultraviolet B (UVB) can cause skin cancer. The best sun protection creams provide protection against all types of UV light.
Which sun protection factor do you need?
SPF is a measure of how well the cream has UV protection. (There is no assessment of the sun’s UVA protection factor.) Manufacturers estimate the SPF based on how long it will be required for skin that has been applied to sunscreen compared to skin that is not applied to it.
Experts recommend using a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30. Solar radiation protection products with a SPF provide more than 50 slight increases in terms of UV protection. Products with a high solar protection factor (SPF) will last the same period as products with a low solar protection factor (SPF).
The sunscreen often does not wear well or with enough thickness, so it can wear off while swimming or when sweating. As a result, the sunscreen will be less effective than the SPF number that is expressed.
