Heart disease is the biggest cause of death in England.

2.7 million people in the UK suffer from this disease.

There are approximately 2.7 million people in the UK with coronary  disease.

It is the largest killer in the United Kingdom, causing about 82,000 deaths annually.

About one in five men and one in eight women die as a result of this disease.

It is reported that the risk of coronary heart disease for people of South Asian origin is 50% higher than the national average.

But things may be different. Most premature deaths from cardiovascular disease, including coronary heart disease, are preventable in those under the age of 75.

What is coronary this disease?

Coronary this disease occurs when the blood supply to the heart muscle is reduced due to severe narrowing of the heart arteries or, worse yet, when these arteries become blocked.

This happens gradually as a result of the build-up of fatty deposits, which resemble porridge, inside the arteries, which interferes with the normal flow of blood to the heart.

However, there are plenty of things you can do to keep your heart healthy, regardless of your age, gender, or ethnic origin.

If you are in the group at high risk of developing coronary heart disease because of a family history of coronary artery disease or having an ethnic background, you can still reduce your chance.

Dennis Armstrong, from Heart Research UK, says that “by eating well, quitting smoking and being physically active, you can greatly reduce your risk of developing it.”

Eat healthy foods

Your diet can make a big difference to your heart health. About a third of the food you eat should be fruits and vegetables. Another third should be starchy foods, including bread, cereals, pasta, rice and potatoes.
